A Wedding That Felt Like Home: Jayda & Andre in La Crete

Some weddings feel like a fairytale. Jayda and Andres’ felt like a love letter; written in soft glances, teary smiles, and the kind of joy that dances barefoot across a backyard.

Held in Jayda’s parents’ yard in La Crete, Alberta, their day was intimate, romantic, and deeply personal. The kind of celebration where every detail felt like home.

The first look? It was the kind of emotional moment that makes you forget to breathe. Jayda and Andre's saw each other, and the world paused. No guests, no music.... just two hearts meeting in a moment so tender it could’ve melted the morning dew.

When it came time for couple portraits, the day couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun wrapped everything in a warm, golden glow, and the breeze. Just strong enough to give Jayda’s veil a cinematic lift. It almost felt like nature was in on the celebration. We wandered through the yard, capturing quiet moments between the newlyweds: soft laughter, forehead kisses, and the kind of smiles that only happen when you’ve just married your best friend. The light was bright, the air was warm, and every frame felt like it belonged in a storybook.

Capturing Jayda and Andres’ wedding was more than just documenting a beautiful day; it was deeply personal. Jayda and I grew up together, sharing middle and high school memories, so being asked to photograph her wedding felt like coming full circle. It was a celebration stitched with nostalgia, laughter, and love, and being behind the lens for such a meaningful moment was an honor I’ll never forget.

Golden hour arrived like a quiet blessing. The light softened, stretching long shadows across the yard and wrapping Jayda and Andres in a warm, amber glow. It was the kind of light that makes everything feel cinematic; like the world paused just to admire them. As they held each other, the sky blushed behind them, and every frame felt like a whispered promise. These were the moments where time slowed, and love looked exactly how it feels.

the end ;)
